TOURS OF DINARIC FORESTS + TOUR OF THE RAKOV ŠKOCJAN REGIONAL PARK

The package is intended for all those who wish to spend a good portion of the day in nature and see all the diversity that the Javorniki forests have to offer). The tour guide will pick you up in front of your accommodation or at a pre-arranged rendezvous point in the morning or early afternoon (by agreement) and take you deep into the forest with a 4WD. You will have ample opportunity during the trip itself to see wonderful forest landscapes. When we arrive to the old log cabin in the middle of the wood, serving today as a weekend house, we will park the vehicle and traverse the most beautiful part of the beech forest on foot. Then we will climb a nearby peak, Veliki Kožljek (1248m), where you will be able to take in the most spectacular view of the Javorniki-Snežnik massif and its vast forests. When we return to the car, we will snack on some local food. Then we will drive to the Rakov Škocjan regional park, the first of its kind in Slovenia. Rakov Škocjan is a marvellous karstic valley with numerous karstic phenomena. We will go see the Great and the Small natural bridges, the Kotliči karst spring, the Rak river and its sink into the Tkalca cave, as well as the remains of the Church of St Cantianus, who gave the valley its name. After the tour, we will return to the point of exit.
